Dr. Ottmar Ernst

Dr. Ottmar Ernst is an internationally experienced manager with a focus on operations, technology and supply chain. His extensive executive experience spans complex business portfolios in technology companies. He has significant expertise in restructuring, post-merger integration and carve-outs, where he has successfully managed strategic business developments and built customer and supplier relationships in international markets in the medical technology, automation technology and electronics/semiconductor industries. 

Dr. Ernst specializes in Operations Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance and the use of Six Sigma tools. He has successfully implemented digitalization and Industry 4.0 concepts in production. He underpins his intercultural leadership skills with international experience from professional positions in the USA, Japan, China, Singapore, Mexico and other countries, where he had global responsibility for locations. 

His management approach focuses on creating value through consistent leadership, transparency and excellence in all areas of the company. Dr. Ernst has held senior positions and interim management roles in companies such as Hüppe GmbH, Hako GmbH, PlasTec Technology GmbH and Heraeus. 

His activities included restructuring, purchasing, factory structure changes, introduction of operations excellence and performance management in the financial services, chemicals and precious and special metals industries. Academically, Dr. Ernst earned a doctorate in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and a graduate engineering degree in the same field. 

He supplemented his academic training with further training in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as well as in the areas of anti-corruption, antitrust law and compliance.
